Diretto artistico di Chanel Cosmetics, studia graphic design alla Accademia delle belle arti ad Anversa dove incontra Raf Simons. Dopo avere accettato svariati impieghi si avvicina al mondo del makeup diventando truccatore di moda. Predilige i trucchi estremi perchè " più semplici da realizzare "; è solito utilizzare materiali inusuali per le sue creazioni come piume, tessuti e perle. Collabora con numerose maison come Fendi, Raf Simons, Nina Ricci, Alexander McQueen ed ovviamente Chanel. Sue sono le bocche oversize dello show di McQueen per l'inverno 2009 ispirate a Leigh Bowery e le ciglia di perline di Chanel.
